Barcelona have received encouraging news regarding Raphinha’s condition after the forward was released from the Brazil squad due to a thigh issue suffered during the international break. He will return to Barcelona and miss Brazil’s upcoming friendly against India as a precautionary measure.
Medical examinations reportedly found no muscle tear or significant structural damage. Instead, doctors detected mild swelling and fluid accumulation in his thigh, suggesting that the problem is relatively minor and does not appear likely to keep him sidelined for an extended period.
Raphinha started Brazil’s 4-2 victory over Australia in Brisbane and made his mark by scoring the team’s second goal from the penalty spot. However, he was substituted at halftime after experiencing discomfort in his right thigh, prompting concerns at Barcelona given the physical demands of his international schedule.
Brazil’s medical staff ultimately decided that there was little reason to take unnecessary risks with the Barcelona winger. His early withdrawal was therefore viewed as a precaution, allowing him to return to his club for further monitoring and recovery. Barcelona will now hope the issue settles quickly so Raphinha can resume training and prepare for the club’s upcoming fixtures.
