Raphinha has suffered another injury scare while representing Brazil, forcing the Barcelona winger to leave a friendly against Australia after experiencing discomfort in his right thigh. The latest setback has prompted Barcelona to look beyond the immediate injury and examine why similar problems have repeatedly emerged during his international commitments.
Barcelona’s medical and fitness staff are expected to meet with Raphinha after his return to the club’s training base. The assessment will focus not only on the latest medical results but also on his preparation while working with Brazil. The club wants to identify whether any specific factors could be contributing to the recurring issues affecting his right thigh.
As part of the review, Barcelona plans to compare Raphinha’s routines with Brazil and those used at the Catalan club. Training methods, warm-up procedures and physical preparation before matches are among the areas that could be examined. The objective is to identify potential patterns across his recent injury episodes and determine whether preventative measures can reduce the risk of another recurrence.
Raphinha has already dealt with two significant problems to his right leg during previous international assignments. In March, he suffered a right hamstring injury during Brazil’s friendly against France, which ruled him out of Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final meeting with Atletico Madrid. Another hamstring issue occurred during the World Cup in June against Haiti, forcing him to miss Brazil’s following matches against Scotland and Japan.
The latest setback has increased Barcelona’s concern because of the repeated connection between Raphinha’s injuries and international duty. The club’s priority is now to establish whether there is a common factor behind the incidents rather than simply treating each injury separately. Barcelona will use the upcoming medical evaluation and discussions with the player to determine how best to manage his workload and protect him from further setbacks.
